Jug (medium) #1

This jug was on the front edge of the top shelf in the kiln, facing all the fire and soda, so it’s no wonder the heat has transformed the Barium Blue glaze, bleaching it in places, intensifying the colours in other areas. This area of the kiln also doesn’t have the intense, prolonged reduction lower down in the chamber and is often a little cooler, allowing for more variegated surfaces.
