It was good to get the year underway with making a batch of pots and pushing them through the wood kiln. I am continuing my experiments with flashing slips over the darker clay bodies and seeing the different effects. The kiln hummed along and fired about a hour quicker than usual – which I’m putting down to the dry pine pallet wood. The pots on the bottom of the kiln came out well, which is good to see, and my salting cup experiment on the dry shelves worked a treat at flashing areas that normally struggle to get good colour. Here’s a gallery of images, some of these pieces are already in my outlets, others are available from my Rahu Road Gallery.
